cluessa explores personal experiences and traumas, documented and transformed throughout their practice. The works ask to be cared for -- rarely are they too big to cradle in your arms. Sculptural objects portray alienesque bodies composed of synthetic wastes and precious materials such as hair and teeth. Smeared onto the surface, drawings depict figures individually preoccupied with an intimate struggle or apparition, together only in a very physical space. These are not works that know, but works that wonder, fear, and mourn an unnamed reality.
